CREAM CITY is a new one-hour dramady pilot from co-creators Matt W. Cody and Jeffrey James Keyes.
In 1982 Milwaukee, when a closeted gay priest defies his faith and family to begin a journey of self-discovery, he collides with the openly gay owner of Cream City, a beloved neighborhood gay bar that’s at risk of going out of business.
Matt W. Cody & Jeffrey James Keyes are a screenwriting duo telling untold queer stories rooted in family - both real and chosen. Both hailing from Milwaukee and currently living on the East Coast, Matt & Jeffrey were nurtured by chosen families and understand their importance in queer storytelling. Their writing also reveals their personal backgrounds in its idiosyncratic blend of Midwestern “nice” and New York “not so nice.” Their one-hour drama CREAM CITY was recognized as a Spring 2022 WeScreenplay Diverse Voices finalist and was recently awarded a grant through the Artists' Patron Fund.
